Partner

A Partner is the central master data entity representing any external party the system interacts with — a customer, a supplier, a farm, a carrier, a certifying body, or any other business contact. It is the organizational anchor to which addresses, contracts, enquiries, payments, and transactions are linked. Nearly every business object in the system references one or more partners, making the Partner the most fundamental entity in the data model.

A partner record holds identifying information such as the legal name, company code, VAT number (UIDNr), Global Location Number (GLN for logistics/EDI), and LFBIS number (the Austrian agricultural business registration number). It also carries accounting references (debitor and creditor account IDs), links to default financial settings (currency, tax group for purchases, tax group for sales, delivery condition, payment type), and an external ID for integration with third-party systems. The partner's current workflow state, preferred language, and record state round out the administrative metadata needed to manage the full lifecycle of a business relationship within the platform.
