PartnerTaxGrpUsage

A PartnerTaxGrpUsage stores a partner's tax registration details for a specific region — primarily their VAT number (UID) and local tax registration number. Multiple usages can exist per partner to cover registrations in different tax jurisdictions, for example an Austrian VAT number alongside a German VAT number for a partner that is registered in both countries. One usage can be flagged as the default for the partner's primary tax jurisdiction.

In business processes, PartnerTaxGrpUsage records are the basis for tax validation and automatic pricing decisions: a partner with a valid VAT number in the relevant jurisdiction is typically treated as a business customer entitled to net pricing and reverse-charge treatment, while a partner without a valid registration is treated as a private consumer subject to gross pricing including VAT. Having this data structured per region rather than as a single field on the partner allows the system to apply the correct tax rules automatically depending on where the transaction takes place.
